This is mostly accurate. Almost all houses are required to have a rec in order to offer you a bid, but they will try to find recs for the girls they really like all the way up to pref round. If you're having trouble finding recs, at least prioritize the "top tier" houses, as well as any sorority that doesn't have a big presence in Georgia. (You can look on each sororities website to find out have many chapters and alumni groups are in Georgia). The reason these should be your priorities for recs is because 1. Most girls have recs for the top tier houses since they tend to en most desired, so those houses expect you to have a rec. 2. If a sorority had a smaller presence in Georgia or the south in general, the girls in the chapter will have a harder time finding alumni (or even collegians for the 3 sororities that allow that) who know you and can write you a rec. For example - like the other commenter said, even though DG isn't one of the strongest chapters here, they are still required to have a rec for each girl they bid. even though they're huge nationally, they only have 1 chapter in Georgia so they won't be able to easily find a connection for every single pnm they want. So if you don't have recr, you could get cut from all the top houses, as well as sororities from other tiers simply because they aren't going to keep inviting you back knowing they can't offer you a bid.
