Just because they didn't have a rec on your behalf. Other ways to improve your chances, make sure you know and can talk about the following topics: high school involvement, why you want to join a sorority, what your best traits are, how you plan to get involved with UGA, any major service projects you did, what hobbies/interests you're the most passionate about etc... You want to be genuine but you also want to present yourself well. Most importantly you need to show them that you're a friendly person. Keep in mind, we're looking for sisters, littles, grandlittles, future bffs. While you'll spend a lot of time talking about resume stuff which is important, we need to see your personality. You really need to be likeable. Also, make sure your outfits are on point each day. Fashionable, flattering, not too long or too short etc... Finally what sororities you have a good chance at: basically anything that's not old row (adpi, theta, kappa, phi mu, and chi o) even though chi o has fallen they still recruit a lot of legacies and old south types. Since you're less outgoing, you might have a good chance at AOPi, Pi Phi, AXO, Gamma Phi, and DG since they all have less of a wild parties reputation. DPhiE can 100% be your backup if you don't love them during recruitment. But at the end of the day, just be open minded, realistic, go with your gut, and see how things go in August.
