as a girl who goes to almost every frat as my main source of going out in toronto here’s my honest opinion: every frat has creepy guys in it and also some really good guys. however, some frats will try to make the experience comfortable for you if they see anything weird happening and some won’t. be careful mostly for guys who live in the house, they are more likely to try and bring you upstairs of that’s not your style. don’t mistake flirting for being creepy, remember these guys literally party for a living and most frats have like hundreds of girls coming in through their doors every weekend. and don’t be afraid to reject them: if you don’t hook up with them, don’t worry! someone else definitely will. i reccomend partying at frats where the guys are your friends vs ones where you don’t know anyone, it can make you feel a lot safer. also, there’s a really low chance that any frat guy is trying to spike your drink because of the controvery that will cause, especially if he spikes a sorority girl’s drink. however, a frat i would be aware of is Lambda just because so many of my female friends have claimed to be spiked there. if you’re scared, pregame responsibly and bring like two or three of your own coolers, they don’t care if you BYOB. want word to spread fast that a brother was creepy with you? find a group of uoft sorority girls (you’ll be able to tell who they are) and tell them. they will most likely make sure nothing else happens to you the whole night and if they know the guys in the frat they’ll take care of any confrontation for you. unfortunately with frats everywhere you just have to go out and see what works for you. some guys will creep you out, some won’t. for women it’s kind of like that everywhere. there’s no frat that is 100% amazing and pure and definitely won’t try and hook up with you. and always go with a few friends, the two-man you’re pulling up with every weekend is not a safe look. and remember, your feelings are valid. if a guy makes you feel creepy and upset, don’t let anyone tell you you should feel otherwise. stay safe girl
