Hey, I'm in a nonpanel sorority. I joined because Ryerson is boring and I wanted to make friends, participate in philanthropy and better myself. The sorority has been around since the early 1900s and was started in the US. We have over 20 chapters established across America. Now panhel seems awesome, and I would of loved to join, but I don't go to u of t so I couldn't. We continually support the panhels by attending events and are really trying to make connections with you all. We understand we are not the same as you guys, but we still promote the same values. I don't get why people would have a problem with this? Why don't you want more women empowering each other and being involved in the community? We want to get to know all of you better and are open to having socials with sororities. Also not everyone can afford panhel. This makes non-panhel a good option because you can still meet wonderful ladies and participate in the community but at an affordable rate. They are not the same. I understand the important history, but a lot of us have important history too. We love the community even though we are new and thank those that have welcomed us and supported us. For those who don't, we hope we can maybe change your mind. I know that KBG is trying to make their mark and has a true focus on philanthropy, and sisterhood. DPD is known for being super friendly and they do come out to support others. DPN I would maybe avoid currently.
