Snap bids are given out when XO doesn't meet the quota for the amount of spots they want to fill. The last couple years many girls that XO wanted went to Kappa, Beta or Tridelt instead so they had to scramble and figure out how to fill their spots up with girls who did not get a bid. This is NOT a good thing because they basically end up with girls that are not their first choice and results in what is called a class full of random girls. Although snap bids are given, they are not something you want to get. Ideally you will be able to get in to the group that wants you and you want them and be at those pref nights. Snap bids are not something you should want - only as a last resort.
