Ole Miss, Alabama, and Auburn are getting rid of skit as well. I'd expect that one of the arguments against is that it highlights those sisters who are natural extroverts and those who are good at singing and dancing. It's not very "sisterly" to highlight only a few sisters and relegate the rest to being props. Also, it gives a huge advantage to houses who have more dancer/cheerleader types which may seem unfair.
