I literally did not know anyone either. My parents are immigrants (and hang out with other immigrants) so I didn't have any family friends who were in sororities, and I went to a high school where not a single one of my friends' parents were involved in Greek life. I contacted my city's Panhellenic organization and they helped set me up with rec writers. A word of advice, do not assume that the ladies Panhellenic gets you in contact with HAVE to write you a rec. Do not treat them as if it is their job to write one for you. Politely ask to meet them for coffee or if they are volunteering somewhere if you could come along. Ask a lot of questions about the recruitment process, talk to them about their experience. Listen carefully to how they describe their own sorority's values and try to mold your own experiences to match up with those during recruitment conversations. I talked to 20 women I had never met before the summer before my recruitment, and that was a wonderful way for me to build up conversation skills. Also, be sure to thank your writers profusely. Be aware that many are doing you a favor. Don't drop off the face of the planet after they've sent in their rec forms.
