Most sororities at A&M and most other colleges participate in spring rush. I dont know where the negative connotation came from here but the reality is, sororities are a business and require members and money to run. Almost every sorority here participates in some form of spring rush because members graduate early or go abroad all the time. Lets say that 10 members graduate early, thats a loss of almost $20,000 in dues. They need to fill spots. If every sorority would just accept spring rushing as a thing that must be done, the spring members would feel so much more welcome in the sisterhoods here. You can get great girls in the spring who got lost in the system or were interested in greek life because someone impacted them and encouraged them to join.
