First, I wish I could come up with a better way so nobody feels bad. It's terrible and I am sorry and don't even know you. I think when this happens it takes a bit of the shine out of the whole experience for everyone, even those who get the houses they want as I suspect most want their friends to be happy too. More important though is this is the start of college life so don't let a set back define you. Define yourself as a survivor, someone who finds more then one way to be happy as that is a skill that will last your whole life! Best of luck.
