A&M rush is competitive; the houses start with 1500 girls attending Round 1 and will only have a pledge class of 85 tomorrow....that means 95% of PNM's will cut or be cut from each house during the week. Think of this- of the 1000+ girls who showed up last week dreaming of being a Kappa or a Zeta, only 160ish of those girls will actually be in those houses tomorrow . The other 840 will be somewhere else or nowhere. It is a numbers game, cannot repeat that enough. I know most of those 1000 girls thought they were special & had the grades/ recs/ connections/ looks/ leadership to get one of those coveted bids, but the vast majority won't be Kappas or Zetas tomorrow. I would guess around 50% or more of PNM's don't have a full party card in 9, 6, and pref rounds. Then there is a common occurence where PNM's have "perfect" rush early in the week (only going back to their top chapters and not to the ones they ranked as least favorite during voting) and then have a huge cut late week and are left without a full party list. Had they been cut by 2 top houses earlier, they would likely still be invited back to 2 mid/low houses late week and have more options. It happened to me- 6 top/ mid houses for skit and then only 1 invitation to pref...I got my #1 choice but it stung to know the other 5 dropped me. The good news is that if you have pref invitations at all - whether it's 1 house or 3 - if you list all of your options when you vote tonight, you will become Greek tomorrow!
