Both fraternities are extremely well known and respected by all of the top tier sorority girls on campus. Everyone wants to date one. They are constantly going back and forth on who the number one fraternity is. Most boys from good high schools in major cities who know people are deciding between these two. KAs describe themselves as "southern gentlemen". They wear wrangler jeans all the time and a lot of them own ranches. A lot of them are city boys (HP, Westlake, all over Houston, etc) disguised as country boys. They have a really good brotherhood and are always hanging out together. They see themselves as very exclusive and are pretty strict on who they invite to their parties. They pretty much only mix with Tri Delt, Kappa, Zeta, Pi Phi, and some chi o. Most of their parties are at their house with a bonfire and beer. FIJIs to me are generally more "city" boys. They also have a lot of HP, Houston, and Austin people. Also, I would say a good majority of all the boys from Alamo Heights and Memorial rush FIJI. Their pledges wear khakis instead of jeans. They are constantly surrounded by Tri Delts and Kappas. Their parties are also very exclusive and more frequent than KA. They go all out for all of their themed parties and usually have a DJ or band as well. They are known for having the most money of the fraternities. When it comes to who you like better, it really depends on who you know in which fraternity. They both have the most attractive boys on campus.
