this is a warning to all girls going through recruitment this year. Last year, I went through and was very excited. I met many kind people and enjoyed talking to everyone. Well, most everyone. On sisterhood round, I entered the theta house sweating buckets from the august heat. The girls were so kind and gave me a water cup and a place to stand under an A/C vent. After their sisterhood presentation, I stood up and realized I started my period. To put it lightly, I was mortified. This was a horribly unfortunate day to forget my underwear, but luckily the girl I talked to was still super kind and understanding and rushed me to the bathroom and got me a tampon. The rest of the conversation was super normal and nice. At this point, I was really considering going theta seeing how kindly they treated me, but things took a turn as they started escorting me out of the house at the end of the round. She told me she wasn't allowed to send me out of the house with anything so she took my water cup from me to throw it away. But as she was waving goodbye from me as I stepped out of the house, I felt her hand slip up my dress and yank my tampon out of me. I turned in disgust to look back at this tampon thief, but the doors closed as soon as I turned around. All I saw was the girl quickly hide behind the doorframe, and a small flash of red fly behind her in her hand. I still cannot believe the humiliation I felt and the extreme severity they had in their rule to not let the PNMs leave their house with something. do NOT start your period during rush week...
