I am sorry that recruitment didn't work out for your daughter this semester; we found out that it can be a tricky process if you're not familiar with all of the details! However, the Greek Life Office on campus at Texas A&M is staffed with wonderful people who know what they are doing and are very understanding and most helpful. I also work on campus and have a position that allows me to occasionally interact with sorority members, and that gives me a chance to get to know some of them. I am confident that I know the sorority that invited her (by your description) because [she] "only had one sorority on her tag. It was the only one that she was not interested in, so she withdrew." Perhaps it was not her "humble background" but her inflexibility and attitude that did not result in any of the houses that she wanted. Seriously, by having her mind already made up, she may have missed the chance to know a group of awesome young women who want to make a difference in the world, who know the value of the education they are getting at Texas A&M, and have already travelled the world extensively. By the way, our daughter is in this chapter (as well as multiple other organizations on campus) and because of her "difference," (her sisters and friends know what I'm talking about) she has made a lasting impact on this chapter.
