Sorority life is expensive. Many thousands of dollars in dues, plus money for shirts/parties/other things. Lots of girls are from Houston. Lots of oil jobs in Houston. They're not poor now, but they don't have as much discretionary spending as before. In 2013 there was a noticeable bump in recruitment numbers which has been the same for almost 20 years. Then in 2014 there was a really big bump. 2015 was also high but didn't grow anymore.
