They're "cheap looking" because the university has not helped at all in terms of providing loans or granting Greek Life use of university land to build on, so when Greek life got started at A&M all those years ago, there was only a short amount of time to fundraise and purchase the land and plan for buildings. Also, there were far, far fewer girls per PC for most of the sororities's times here. Only recently have we become bigger. Other places in the SEC build on university land close to campus with lots of space, and they're on their 2nd or 3rd complete rebuilds. A lot of A&M sororities are in their original houses. Houses at UT-Austin aren't built on university land either, but those chapters also have tons of money and "tradition" to spend on houses.
