If I were you I would wait and rush in the fall! You'll have a much more authentic sorority experience and have an opportunity to check out all of the chapters on campus versus just the ones going through Spring Recruitment. Chapters can participate in Spring recruitment for various reasons. Some chapters have it in their by-laws (like Pi Phi) requiring them to participate in Spring recruitment. Other chapters are required to participate if they are below the row's average number of girls in the chapter. Most chapters keep it pretty hush-hush if they have to participate in rush, so there's no telling really now who has to participate. Ask around and you can find out!
