Typically, the only sororities who participate in Spring rush are those who didn't make quota in the fall. Last year Theta and Pi Phi did normal spring rush. If I remember correctly, Zeta and APhi did something called "continuous open bidding" where they give bids to girls throughout the semester. From what I've seen, spring rush is wayyyyyy more informal than fall rush. It seems like the parties are more laid-back as well as the dress codes. Also, I think bidding works differently in the spring. I honestly don't think the matching system plays a major part; instead, houses invite back whoever they're interested in rather than being required to invite a certain number of girls every round (like in the fall). It seems like it's pretty easy and way less competitive to get a bid in the spring. Just make sure your GPA is high enough, try to dress cute, and don't be awkward in conversations. My sorority doesn't do spring rush, but these are some things I've heard from friends in other sororities. If you email PHC, im sure they can answer any question you have about spring rush. Going Greek has been one of the best decisions I've made at LSU. I hope you decide to go through with it. Good luck!
