I found this online and I need everyone to talk about it with me 💀 “First of all, all of the 26 sororities in the NPC have top chapters at some schools, and there are many sororities rising to give the ‘old guard’ a run for their money! My observations aren’t the party line of ‘’all sororities are the same’’. Granted everyone finds the ‘BEST’ sorority for themselves. If by top, you mean the sororities that are NATIONALLY and REALISTICALLY considered to be the most elite, the most selective, and having the strongest reputations, with high standards for membership, then there are three that have a consensus in the Greek world as having clout, selectivity, and a very favorable reputation. Pi Beta Phi founded 1867 Kappa Alpha Theta founded 1870 Kappa Kapppa Gamma founded 1870 William Domhoff, who wrote ‘Who Rules America? (Seventh edition, p. 57), noted that upper-class college women "joined one of the four or five sororities with nationwide social prestige. ( Pi Beta Phi, Kappa Alpha Theta, Delta Delta Delta, Kappa Kappa Gamma,) Pi Phi, Theta & Kappa usually have the consistent track record of selectively and excellence with required high standards. One caveat, these women’s fraternities, founded before sorority was added, often have the reputation of not being the most welcoming, friendliest women. Nor do they always have the best sisterhoods, Since there are Alpha Queen Bees, there can be added drama. However, despite any inevitable flaws, they are extremely selective overall. Generally, they get ‘pick of the litter’ among prospective new members. One or all of these organizations generally dominate the larger national universities, Ivy League schools, and prestigious private schools. High GPAs, beauty, wealth, sociability, family prominence, and contributions in service, clubs, and outstanding talent will serve the PNM in being pledged. All three have chapters which have chapters which have closed, as does every sorority. This ‘‘Holy Trinity’ is not considered ‘top tier’ at all colleges. However, Greek men and women from 90 year old alums to high school students preparing for college know of their reputations, earned or not. They do have haters. Opinions differ and their popularity isn’t always strong but they are recognized as universally top organizations. Some say ‘Unholy Trinity’ because as a whole, some consider the members to be elitist, snobby, mean, beauty oriented, shallow and cliquish within their own groups. They may not always be congenial, but they do have the cachet and connections which will open many doors in the professional world . I have consistently heard them confirmed as ‘top’ from traveling Greek-wear reps, composite salespersons, fraternity men, and other campus sources nationally. Many famous alumnae are members. Pi Phi, Kappa & Theta don’t have the ‘hit or miss’ that is more prevalent with the other organizations. Tri Delta is also a top-tier sorority with very strong organization with an excellent reputation and whom I have always admired. They are very highly respected. Some students just use the term PKT, for Pi Phi, Kappa, and Theta. To be seriously considered for membership, you need almost all of the following credentials: 1.Sterling recommendations from alums, a MUST. 2. A history of ‘proper’ extracurricular activities, with a high GPA 3. Being a ‘desirable’ legacy, white, rich, thin, confident,” (Continued in comments)
