www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/news/crime_police/article_353c1866-999c-11e7-a646-3b0d855372cd.html The above link is the recent article regarding the death of a Phi Delta Theta Pledge at LSU. LSU officials suspended all Greek activities indefinitely Thursday until they complete the investigation into the death of an 18-year-old Phi Delta Theta pledge, and its connection to hazing. "Hazing is dangerous, irresponsible and unacceptable," said LSU President F. King Alexander. "It will not be tolerated at LSU."Phi Delta Theta Headquarters issued a statement from Ohio Thursday saying they are investigating the event that resulted in the death of Gruver. "As a result of this incident, the Fraternity has suspended the operations at the chapter pending a thorough investigation into the events that led up to this heartbreaking incident," the statement says. Phi Delta Theta officials are working with LSU administrators and law enforcement, the statement says. “First and foremost, our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Gruver family, and all who knew Max, during this very difficult time,” said Bob Biggs, executive vice president and CEO at Phi Delta Theta General Headquarters. Phi Delta Theta returned as an official university fraternity in 2006 after a two-year hiatus, according to reports from the Daily Reveille. It was founded on campus in 1938, according to LSU's Division of Student Affairs.
