instate girls better because they can get all the dirt on them (if there is any). They're a known quantity because chances are someone already in the sorority will know them. Also, the families of instate girls tend to be more active. They give more of their time and money, since it's benefitting something that's in their own state. I thought the same thing as you when I first heard about the instate thing. Believe it or not, it's actually considered a slam on another sorority if you accuse them of taking too many out of state girls. Go figure. . .
