Times were different. There was no RFM and chapters could invite back as many PNMs as they wanted to each round. Some sororities purposefully over invited to have full chapter rooms, which meant most PNMs had enough invites to be able to cut chapters early in the week. The house that was everyone's least favorite was dropped by almost everyone after the first day. Then that house never had enough PNMs left at their parties to make quota. To make it worse, those chapters that purposefully over invited had far too many PNMs at 3rd round and Pref and that is when they made their very steep cuts. As a result lots of girls got completely cut from recruitment because they had already cut the other chapters and had no options left. Kappa Delta had been a solid chapter. They had one rough rush and then the bottom began to fall out. Missed quota by a few one year, then more the next, then even more the next. It was hard to recover back then. RFM isn't perfect but it is much better than the old system.
