I was responding specifically to her comment about her type of LD being auditory processing that makes "conversations difficult" and "small talk hard." Add in a high stimulation, noisy, pressure (i.e. nerves) environment and her type of LD may make the formal recruitment situation more difficult. As a result the girls paired with her may make incorrect assumptions about her, and while she may be a great PNM she might fall through the cracks. I agree with you that learning differences should not be a reason to not go through Formal, as we all know plenty of people who have and who have done fine. A reading difference would have no impact on trying to have a conversation and impress, for example. My answer was specific to her situation, and the concern about having conversations that she herself raised. Of note, I never told her she should not go through Formal. I provided 3 valid options.
