1. No she can't guarantee anything. But depending on how well she is liked and respected in her house, having a sitting sister can be very helpful. 2. Yes. No one wants to waste an invite on someone who is perceived to be a high risk of going to a sitting sister's house. If you are really keeping an open mind then you need to make sure everyone knows this right away. Also having your sister mention this to friends in other sororities (if she's willing to and wouldn't be insulted if you don't want to automatically be in her house.) Having a sitting sister, especially one that is well known and in a top house, is both one of the hardest and best legacy situations to be in.
