A lot will depend on their initial class. If a lot of students and groups of friends go in and decide to pursue Phi Mu together, especially campus leaders and social/outgoing girls, they can get a quality colony class. Phi Mu will want members from all classifications, including juniors and seniors. The older girls can serve in leadership positions, be mentors to the younger girls, and balance out the ages in the chapter. Therefore, older students on campus should strongly consider participating in Phi Mu's recruitment. It can be a excellent way to join our Greek community since formal recruitment is hard for juniors and seniors. However, Phi Mu's recruitment is just like formal recruitment- there are no guarantees and you still have to be invited to get a bid. If not many students attempt the colonization process then they may start out weak. The stronger all of our chapters are, the stronger our entire Greek community will be. We should want them to get a good colony class.
