Both schools have some pluses. But SMU does not "have it all over TCU." It must be the same person posting over and over again about the academics. The two schools are about the same for admissions. There are some real under-achievers from my high school who ended up at SMU (I think most of them are majoring in fashion-related marketing, for what that is worth). SMU is probably much more Greek-oriented than TCU, but that can ultimately be very limiting on meeting folks outside your comfort zone (which is what happens after college). The folks I know who went to TCU were definitely more mellow and probably more academically oriented. Outside of Texas, TCU probably has a better reputation, due more to SMU's reputation of just being a school for spoiled Dallas kids. Sorry if you don't like this.
