I was offered the same scholarship at SMU and TCU so I really don’t know how SMU can be ranked higher academically. Upon the accepted students tour of SMU I realized that it wasn’t a good fit for me. It seemed a little pretentious and seemed to be resting on its reputation. I actually blew off the 2nd day of SMU and went to TCU. The difference was night and day. I loved the down to earth feel of TCU, the people, everything! I am from out of state and I went to an exclusive high school and SMU seemed more of the same. If you really want elite you probably should head to the east coast.
