My friend is going through recruitment there right now. I was checking in and saw this post. PNM, there is a very strong focus on education and philanthropy within the Greek system. Of course, joining a house also involves sisterhood, but the expectations of every organization include those of scholarship and philanthropy. If you don’t make grades, there will be mandatory study hours. Many schools also send a copy of your mid year report directly to the sorority house. As for philanthropy, there is an expectation that everyone will commit to a certain numbers of philanthropic hours per term of service. During recruitment, usually one night is spent on the topic of philanthropy (raising money and/or awareness about the chosen cause) Fines generally exist for violations of expected behavior, such as missing chapter, not dressing up for formal chapter, and other items.most girls are never fined because they understand that a certain level of conformity is expected and they are choosing like minded individuals who will conform to those expectations. Give it and them a chance- everything will be told to you in advance and shouldn’t be overwhelming or impossible
