I don't know what is with all the Chi O hate...seems like there isn't a post on here that doesn't say they are dirty rushers. I didn't experience this during recruitment and no one I have talked to did either. Oh well, I guess it really does matter who you talk to. Getting back to the original question, the importance of recs varies by house. Some houses require them in order to give you a bid and others just find them useful to get some personal information. A good recommendation letter can go a long way in terms of the girls in house getting to know you before you actually enter the house. My advice would be to contact the Alum in charge of the rec letters at the TCU chapter and find out what each specific chapters want. A good standard I was told was to get two recs for each house. To get invited back...just be yourself! Actives want new members that they can be friends. So keep your conversations real and make connections. Have fun!
