Pretty much. If you are high enough on any of the bid lists, you will receive a bid to the first one you're high enough on according to the way you ranked them. (So if you're not high enough on #1 but are high enough on #2, you will get a bid to your #2. If you're not high enough on #1 and #2 but are high enough on #3, you'll receive a bid to your #3.) If you are not high enough on any of the three you ranked and you maximized your options, then the computer goes through a mathematical process to match you to one of them. It takes several factors into account including the way you ranked them, how close or over quota the three chapters are, how many members they already have, how many PNMs who didn't match are still in the "holding pool" and what chapters they ranked and how they ranked them etc. The goal is to match you to your highest choice possible while balancing the other numbers. So let's say your #1 choice has 12 other PNMs who didn't match who also ranked them number one, but your #2 choice has three other PNMs who ranked them #1 or #2, then you would probably be placed with your #2. If the numbers are more or less balanced, then you'd be placed with your #1. The best way to approach it is knowing that you can possibly receive a bid from any of the three sororities you ranked. Understand that every single one of the sororities who invite you to preference saw something in you that made them want to give you a bid. I hope this makes sense! Good luck!
