As an example, let's say the three sororities are X, Y and Z and quota is 50. The PNM ranks the sororities: #1 X #2 Y #3 Z In bid matching, X has 58 (50 who were high enough on their bid list plus 8 quota additions), Y has 57 (50 who were high enough on their bid list plus 7 quota additions and Z has 50 (just quota with no additions so far.) The PNM will go to Z. This is designed to keep the sorority numbers relatively balanced. There is a lot more going on at the same time in the software, and it is running several scenarios, but this is how it works.
