I was in your same situation and things turned out well. Idk if not being a legacy hurt me (I'm sure XO & DDD didn't think it was cool) BUT I am in a top house and love my sisters. You cannot give what you don't have so be your personal best. Be well put together, personable, seem interested in those you are matched with, have a strong resume and get your REC letters and I do not believe not having a legacy will hold you back from a successful recruitment.
