ALL houses take sophomores. That said, nobody is going to allow half their MC be sophomores. Most chapters have a loose quota on how many sophomores they will take. It isn't hard and fast. They might say "ok, quota is 50...so we probably don't want more than 5ish to be second years." But if there are 8 they ADORE, they will all get bids. The issue is usually if there are say 4 girls at the tail end of the bid list that were all totally equal and two are sophomores and two are freshman.....then it's kind of a crap shoot. They may take the freshman, they may take one of year...but it's unlikely they will take the 2 sophs over the freshman unless it goes to an open forum for the chapter or a select group to talk about each person individually.
