I agree with what both people above me said. I rushed as a freshman and got dropped from every house but one that I didn't want. I tried again as a sophomore and ended up with a full pref schedule that I liked and got a bid to my top house. I would suggest you think ahead of time your answer to "why didn't you rush last year?" because you'll probably get asked it. If you did rush and dropped out, you don't need to admit if you got cut..you could just say it didn't work out and you decided to focus on school or whatever. Nobody is judging you! And if you didn't rush, you could just say you wanted to focus on school and were busy with other things. The important thing is to never talk bad about the Greek system--even if your mind changed since last year. Just say you saw a lot of friends who are so happy and decided to check it out. Even if you aren't sure you even WANT a bid, it's best to really be enthusiastic b/c people who say they're on the fence will be the first to get cut (after grades and those who are definitely just not a fit).
