I don’t think it has as much to do with the “tiers” as people are making it out to be. From my own experience and from the experiences of so many other girls I know in greek life, it’s not as superficial as preffing 2 top tier houses because they’re the “best options” because they’re “top” houses, people go where they feel welcome and feel they will fit in. I know many girls who preffed Gphi/Kappa because although in different tiers they have similar vibes of cool/edgy girls, other top houses don’t have that vibe so why would you pref another top house just to do it when you wouldn’t fit in? Also similarly many are bringing up the Aphi/tridelt overlap which also proves true because both are big party houses with similar vibes, regardless of tier. I really can not see kappa/DG/Aphi all competing for the same girls because they are all SO different. People end up where they feel most comfortable and there are outliers of course but for the most part people go into the mindset of rush with “I want to be in a place where I find my people” not “I want to be in a top house”. PNMs reading this please don’t select houses based on their “rankings”, go where you feel you’ll fit in.
