Informal is def more chill but you’re really limiting ur options if u go through w it since only two houses do informal in the fall. Informal “rush” is only for like 2-3 days while formal is 2 weeks to meet all the houses. Overall I’d recommend waiting for formal in the spring so you get to meet all the houses bc either way the initiation process is always 6-8 weeks of new member education/dry period so you need to make sure you’re making the right choice by having the most options available! Also formal rushing as a sophomore doesn’t have any cons and is maybe even better than rushing as a freshman bc ur more comfortable on campus and you know the Greek life scene better
