Honestly, it does happen, but most girls do get a bid if they go through the process open minded, are kind and positive to everyone, and maximize their options every round. Unfortunately, sometimes girls do get cut from everywhere, and that typically happens in round 3 right before pref, because that's when the harshest cuts are made. If you make it to pref, you are most likely getting a bid provided you rank all three (or 2 or 1) houses that you get asked back to. The reason round 3 is the harshest cuts is because when you make it to pref, you HAVE to be placed somewhere on the bid list, so there's a strong chance you will be put in a house. If a house really does not want you, then they wouldn't put themselves in a position where they'd have to put you down somewhere and you could likely get a bid. The best way to avoid getting cut is to put your best foot forward and be the best version of you everywhere you go. If you still get dropped, you can always try again next year. :). Don't obsess over being dropped because it will just make you even MORE nervous. The majority of girls get bids.
