My fraternity’s pledge process lasted 8 weeks, and typically most are 6-10. Technically fraternities like sigma chi, sig ep, and sae auto-initiate due to nationals, but all of them (except maybe sigma chi) will still have a “traditional” pledge process. As for grades, I got a 4.0 during my first semester pledging. As long as you focus on going to class, working on time management, and getting homework and studying done extremely early your grades shouldn’t take a hit. I’d say for most people in my PC, their grades did take hits (kid in my PC got a 0.00 GPA, and many sub 1.50’s) just because they didn’t prioritize school. Just gotta care about school and your grades will be fine.
