From the treatment I have received from individuals on this website, who I assume are greeks I must agree with you. I am beginning to understand my fears. This Greek system, while obviously what most Greek systems strive to be, is not accepting of individual who cannot "do it all" or believe in a balance in life and a consideration for individual's own level of comfort and mental health. I most certainly do believe in pushing myself, and following my dream of chemical engineering is a push. What I am failing to see here is that people in the Greek system do not understand that not everyone is a genius and not everyone has intensive and amazing time management skills. I do not have these things. I did not get a 36 on my ACT, I have a small learning disability that means I struggle to get things done as fast as others and I am looking for a chapter that will support me and provide me with relief from the hectic everyday. I hope I am proved wrong by recruitment but this Greek system is very clearly not supportive of individuals who want to focus on one area. It is very clear they do not want people who will not be on homecoming court or won't do 500 clubs. They only want those who will change the world and the rest are not welcome. The pride you have in your system appears to be misplaced. All types of people should be welcome.
