<strong>Subject:</strong><br />Penn is not Dartmouth! <br /><br /> Poster Message:
I just want to make this clear to rising freshmen overthinking Greek life. I'm a senior now and honestly, the allure of Greek life is strong when we are first semester freshmen but as junior year comes, it doesn't matter any more at all. Only 20-30% of students are in the scene (whereas at Dartmouth its more that 60%) so please don't stress out about whether you will have a social life or not. Penn is in Philly, and even the quietest of geeks and most focused of bookworms eventually break out of their shell in 1-2 years. Yes there is a competitive mindset within our Greek scene but it isnt taken as seriously as you might think. In the end, we are all a Penn family. I think Greek life is a place where kids who were anyways quite social in high school get to blossom but if you feel like you aren't there yet, you don't need to force a change in yourself. It will happen naturally by the time you graduate...
