Summer rush is pretty informal when in comes to formalities. A lot of the rush events will be the house's recruitment manager asking you out to lunch, or gong to the house for an event, stuff like that. The tone is very relaxed and the main part of summer rush is getting to know the individual brothers and to see if you like the house. After maybe 2 or 3 events that you go to the recruitment chair will give you a bid if he or the other brothers feel that you would be a good fit in the house. As a potential new member summer rush is one of the best way to get to know the house and to see if you would fit. Informal rushing just seems to work better than formal. You'll probably have to reach out to individual fraternities to know that you have interest in going Greek. The best way to do this is by going on the begreek website for UMN and looking at the individual houses' webpages, there is a link to every house's webpage on that site. Most fraternities' webpages have an option to let their recruiter know you have interest in joining. Also if you know older guys who you went to high school with that went greek here you could message them to see their house, they'd likely then forward you onto their recruitment chair. You shouldn't feel weird/nervous about doing that either, summer rush is fun/informal and I'm sure most houses would love to give any PNM a tour and to get to know you. Also go into rush with some questions to ask, such as why their house would help you succeed?etc
