Number of PNMs has no effect on cob. I would never advise dropping from formal to try cob. That is a huge risk that is unlikely to work. Not accepting a bid unless you are 100% sure is silly. Look at your friends now. Were they your best friends in just a few days? Cob is not a back door into a chapter. If you were dropped, you were not a fit there, even if you thought so.
