There is some truth in what you say. This discussion page should be for discussing more than just rankings. But you have to know that the entire greek system is about elitism. And it isn't about REALLY getting to know a girl - impossible in a week, much less during a short party. All you can possibly expect is a general impression, backed up by recs and resumes. You can call selection status, but really of all the houses at OU, Kappa is the only one that will give a girl a bid just because of the status of her parents. Lower houses get the status girls that don't meet even the bare minimum standards of the lower houses. That puts some status girls in almost every house. And by the way, ranking is by it's very nature judgmental. I am not all that judgmental of my friends, but I do select friends based on mutual interests and character. That's what I think houses try to use to select their new sisters. I think you're maybe projecting your own feelings when you say people look down on others. I'm in an undisputed top house and have friends in lots of houses including AGD, the undisputed lowest house (only because of the lack of quota.) Your assumptions about me seem extremely judgmental and are very inaccurate.
