On the topic of top houses, I would also like to point out that in the end, it doesn't actually matter if you end up in a "top house." Rush is really the only time it's a big deal to people. All the houses have philanthropies, events, rituals, date parties--- they're basically the same. People don't shun you if you aren't in the top tier, I promise. Most people don't even know there's a difference. Go into recruitment with a positive attitude and an open mind and you will definitely find the right place for you. Everyone hates when Rho Gammas and Jill Tran say "the system works," but it really does. All the houses are looking for something very specific in their pledge classes, and even if you "know" you want to be a Pi Phi, for example, chances are you just know the name of it more than you actually know what kind of girls are in the house. It'll work out for the best. Good luck!
