Great thread! I think all this information is helpful! And I want to be clear that this is not based on what I heard, it is truly something that I experienced and realized that I needed something like this before my daughter went through rush. She is in a great house and is so happy, but rush was really difficult. Several girls in her hall were dropped or dropped and then because they were out of state, had no where to go and nothing to do until the next weekend when the students of OU showed up for their move in. It can be a very long week if you don't get in a house. I felt bad for these girls, and there were quite a few. Some of these girls lived in Texas, so they were able to go home, but for girls from far away, it wasn't possible. So...take the advice of the girls on this thread. If you like a house, let them know. Connect with the girls that are taking you through rush. Consider the houses that are asking you back even if they are not your "top" choice. Make friends with your group that you are going around with and make friends with the girls in your dorm. Sororities offer you life long friendships and a home away from home. Good luck and boomer sooner!
