OU mom is probably giving out a story that she heard, but it is far from typical. A little more than half the houses are more exclusive, but they all have girls from oos. One of my pledge sisters is from California and she didn't know anyone. I agree about the recs, though. They are necessary regardless of what panhellenic says. I get somewhat irritated though when people say that if the last two houses aren't for you blah blah blah. Girls drop out of recruitment because they don't have the self confidence to think they can make what they want of a house. No house has a bad reputation, some are just considered more hard to get into. A girl from my high school got her last choice which is the house usually considered the bottom house. She stuck with it, they did U sing and she's having a blast. She's met really wonderful girls and is completely happy. So if you get dropped by your favorites, I'd say get a new favorite, adjust your attitude and start enjoying life as a SOONER!
