That’s a pretty narrow & one-sided look of First Amendment Constitutional rights. (Maybe too many brain cells being used up by critical thinking? Just a thought.) There are 5 guaranteed freedoms afforded to US citizens through the First Amendment of the Constitution: speech, religion, press, assembly, and the right to petition the government. Here’s the actual language contained therein: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” – The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The freedom of religion right goes both ways. Yes, the government must not impose a state religion on the public but it also cannot place restrictions on anyone’s right to worship or practice their faith as their conscience dictates. This is why students anywhere in the US have the right to pray in public schools as long as there’s no disruption to school operations and no government employees (teachers/administrators) are involved. So as much as some would like to deny a sorority women’s right to practice her faith as she sees fit on campus, they cannot. First Amendment freedoms are for ALL OF US — no matter what the cancel-culture proponents would like to change or alter to fit their cause.
