If you are struggling with cuts, remember, it's not personal. Especially this year where part of recruitment is online and you don't get as much time in the house -- or maybe no time at all before you're released. The danger I see in your post above is that you are looking at the idea of getting your desired house through cob or snap bids. This is a very rare unicorn. Most of the time snap bids are available from the houses that you probably still have. COB, which is theoretically available to 50% of the houses, is rarely advertised and doesn't function like formal. Most houses are under by less than 4 or 5 girls and they take girls who already have a best friend in the house and have spent a lot of time there and know the other girls. It's rare that any house except the ones you have now would take you in COB. I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm just saying its completely unlikely and you shouldn't make plans (like dropping out of recruitment) based on maybe getting a snap bid or COB from a house that has released you. My suggestion is this. Have the attitude that you can be happy in any house. There are 200 - 300 girls in each house so for sure you can find your people in any house. All houses are good, though some spend a lot of time on greekrank so you think they're better. And while it's true that some might win homecoming or USing or Scandals or intramurals or whatever, every house participates and that's the fun. You're going to get a fun sorority experience in any house. I got cut from my favorite house after the 1st day and later a girl from that house asked why I cut their house. I was stunned. Computer glitch? Ignorant girl? Who knows? But I found my people and even if I'd dropped recruitment and gone through the next year, hoping that I'd get my favorite house because they'd dropped me for a computer mistake, I probably wouldn't have gotten them because they were looking for freshmen. Now I can't imagine being in any house but mine. On greek rank we're a low house and I thought I'd be humiliated being in this house. But everyone has treated me as well as they have the girls who post on here every day that they're in a top house. It just doesn't matter. My boyfriend is in the top guys house and he doesn't think a thing about my house other than to be glad I'm in a sorority and can do greek functions with him. So please don't drop out. Look at the houses you have and find things to love. Maybe it's the physical house. Maybe it's the girl you clicked with during sisterhood. Maybe it's that they have colors you think are interesting. It doesn't matter if it's the most superficial thing imaginable. Just find anything to like and show a lot of interest. Then after you get a bid, throw yourself into every activity offered. Get to know everyone. This is college and it only lasts 4 years. Don't spend any time moping about because some group of girls you don't know cut you on the first or second day of recruitment. Stay safe.
