I’m a Pi Phi. I’m gonna be honest here. I make above a 3.75 every semester. Not because I want my sorority to rank high in grades. As a matter of fact, i don’t care what we get. When I left for college, both my parents told me to work hard and do the best that I can do. But they reminded me that my gpa won’t matter in the long run, but how I treat people will. I am a high achiever by nature so they knew they didn’t have to worry about me and my grades. But I say all this to say that I think this argument and discussion is pointless and quite honestly MEAN! And I pray that my house isn’t participating in the shaming of other houses. Your parents should have taught you better and that if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it! The constant back and forth on this site infuriates me and without participating it’s hard to sit quietly back while some girls are behind a screen bullying people. Not everyone is academic and that doesn’t make them a bad person or beneath someone else. Be proud of your house for working hard but i guarantee you that the girls aren’t doing it so they can come on greek rank and brag, they’re doing it for themselves. Our sorority time is a short experience and we should enjoy the friendships we make. But be careful to shame and put down others. You never know when they’ll be your boss. Another thing my parents told me! Choose to be kind...you might find out it’s a happier place to be than bitter and mean. Happy syllabus week!
