The overall theme doesn’t have to be hip hop for a dance to have hip hop in it. This is a cheer and dance competition with 50+ people in it. In order for it to be entertaining, you need to have complex and fast-paced choreography, which is best paired with hip hop. GPhi/BYX/Phi Lamb and ATO/DDD were robbed. Their dances were the most creative and entertaining to watch. This is because BYX and ATO have guys who can dance and not just move arms in a general direction.
