Yes, but I believe they all (or almost all, this is how my chapter does it) use a point system to allow you to pick. If you have a ton of points from attending all meetings & events, no fines, high GPA, officer/ committee involvement, you have a higher point number. If after exec board (mandatory live-in) and any upperclassmen who want to live in, there are for example 50 spots left in the house, then the person in your pledge class with the highest points can either get first pick of their room or decline to live in the house, and so forth until the house is full. If too many girls decline to live-in then the girls with the least pints are forced to live there. I think it rarely comes to that but it’s possible. It’s mandatory by nationals to keep the house full and part of our membership requirement to live in if necessary.
